One of the most notable differences this year is the increase in prize money, from £31.6m in 2017 to a whopping £34m - an increase of 7.6%. This figure is all the more astounding when compared to the prize fund of 10 years ago, which was only £11.8m Singles champions will each receive £2.25m in prize money. There will also be no clock on the court to keep track of the 25 seconds allowed between points in 2018. And there won’t be any plastic straws at Wimbledon this year either. So you’ll be having your Pimms straight from the glass.
