When it comes to finishing school and having to take your next step, it can be very intimidating and scary. There are so many options and limitations that sometimes you can get overwhelmed. Choosing from the thousands of different universities and colleges to decide which one would suit you or even deciding if you want to go to college or Uni at all is a difficult decision. Making the wrong decision can happen but it’s important to remember that wrong decision are just a stepping stone in your journey.
For me deciding what I was going to do didn’t really cross my mind. School pushed everyone to go to University; so, I just assumed that that was what I should be doing too. I looked at one University, applied, and got in. In summer I didn’t think about it and then the time came. I went to University and decided that it wasn’t for me. I didn’t want to do three more years of education. That is when a friend told me about Oxford Media and Business school. It was a year course in Oxford; this was right up my alley.
I have loved it. It has been so interesting and eye-opening learning about things that I will actually need in the workplace. I feel like I am actually being prepared for my future and I have been beginning to feel very excited about the future. I have made brilliant friends and have had the best experience over the past year. Now I have two more weeks before I graduate; if I hadn’t had made the drastic decision to drop out of Uni and do what I felt was best for me then I wouldn’t be in such a good position currently.
The moral of the story is; making big changes and decisions is most defiantly okay. In the long run, you have to do what is best for you and if you feel like it is the right thing to do then do it.
