How to make yourself stand out from the crowd when applying or interviewing? Of course first and foremost you need to ensure your CV is spotless - no spelling mistakes, grammar is spot on and all written in the correct and SAME tense You must also of course ensure it covers all the skills, experience and qualifications we have gained to date plus a nice personal profile – make this short and generic or if you are wanting to tailor to the role you are applying for – make sure it is correct and relevant to the job. A greener work environment

Going back and going green. If we have learned something from this crazy Covid existence it is that we need to be more protective of ourselves as well as our environment. You may not be rushing back to the office, you may go back and do a 'Hybrid' work week, but any time you spend there and at home, you can improve your carbon footprint. Simple changes like changing your office search engine, Ecosia is a search engine that is as good as Google/Chrome, etc but the difference is they give back when you use them. Ecosia plant trees when you use them. They use their revenue from ads to plant trees and are free to use! Other simple changes are cycling to work, bring your own coffee, and bring lunch in eco-friendly packaging. Print less, find other ways to share - buy remanufactured ink, do not let computers sit idle turn them fully off, as well as lights that do not need to be on. Take the stairs instead of an elevator, use non-toxic cleaning products to tidy up. Use recycled printing paper, print double-sided, even better yet - use paperless notebooks such as brands like Rocket Books where you can wipe the page clean as well as supplying each page with a code that can be scanned, then add your notes to platforms such as Google Drive One..

Education Vs Me. Cia…

At this point I realised all I needed to do is something I really loved, and I could do it and was more than capable, I was just lacking confidence. I went from someone with little self-assurance in the things I could achieve to realising my parents had set me up with the opportunity to accomplish anything and everything I could ever want, all I needed to do is put my mind to it.   I had aspirations of going to Oxford Brookes with an unconditional offer, joining all my friends. Within 3 months of working in a restaurant and meeting the most amazing people, I realised quickly that doing three years in a classroom again was just not for me.   My mind suddenly opened and this whole new aspect of life started to appear. This was news for everyone, especially my parents. I worked tirelessly for four months before going off traveling and saying goodbye to all the anxiety I had before, starting my own life and being me! I found out about Oxford Media and Business school by complete chance, at a dinner party which I wasn’t initially meant to attend. I met someone there who gave me the drive to do something different, stand out from the crowd and BE ME!   Now coming to the end of my course I couldn’t be prouder of myself;..

It is Okay to…

When it comes to finishing school and having to take your next step, it can be very intimidating and scary. There are so many options and limitations that sometimes you can get overwhelmed. Choosing from the thousands of different universities and colleges to decide which one would suit you or even deciding if you want to go to college or Uni at all is a difficult decision. Making the wrong decision can happen but it’s important to remember that wrong decision are just a stepping stone in your journey.   For me deciding what I was going to do didn’t really cross my mind. School pushed everyone to go to University; so, I just assumed that that was what I should be doing too. I looked at one University, applied, and got in. In summer I didn’t think about it and then the time came. I went to University and decided that it wasn’t for me. I didn’t want to do three more years of education. That is when a friend told me about Oxford Media and Business school. It was a year course in Oxford; this was right up my alley.   I have loved it. It has been so interesting and eye-opening learning about things that I will actually need in the workplace. I feel like I am actually being prepared for my future and I have been..
